The Totally DIY Show proved to be an excellent platform
for Plasti-kote, the consumer's number one spray paint choice, to
launch its retailer initiatives for 2010. Plasti-kote launched two
new products at the Show, showcased new merchandising solutions and
unveiled its comprehensive promotional programme for
2010.
"The new venue worked extremely well for us and attendance
seemed to be higher than ever, said Paul Silk, Head of Sales &
Marketing. "From a Plasti-kote perspective, we were
overwhelmed with the number of visitors to our stand. It was the
perfect place to talk to our customers about their opportunity to
reap the benefits of the continuing growth in the spray paint
market. The NEC is certainly the right venue going forward
and we have already indicated our intent to exhibit at the Show in
2011."
Orders for Teak Oil, a new, limited edition protective spray-on
product, were high and there was considerable interest in the new
water based fast dry enamel paint, particularly from the craft and
hobby sector.
The new compact free standing display unit, designed to promote
the best selling lines across the range, looks set to be the ideal
merchandising solution for the smaller independent retailer. There
was also considerable interest in the counter display unit starter
packs, designed for both new retailers and existing customers
interested in taking specialist products at specific times in the
year.
Customers took the opportunity to sign up for Plasti-kote's
comprehensive promotional programme, which are enhanced in-store by
the clip strip fixture which allows retailers to maximise sales
from their selling space. Spring promotions include Plastic
Paint and BBQ, allowing consumers to prepare their garden furniture
and BBQ for the summer months.
Andy Barker, Plasti-kote's new key account manager for the
independent retailers, was delighted to be able to introduce
himself to the Plasti-kote customers and is excited about his role
with the business. "There was a real buzz to our stand and we were
able to offer an exciting range of solutions as well as remind our
customers of Plasti-kote's core strengths - the brand leader,
driving growth in the spray paint market and working with
